Mobile payments have never been so easy
A nice bow tie was just around the corner. But what a wonderful gift credit managers received with the introduction of mobile payment! Dutch banks such as ING, Bunq, Rabobank and ABN Amro all have popular mobile payment apps these days. And that's a great opportunity for a streamlined collection process and creating better customers.

Almost three quarters pay on mobile devices
Let me explain that with an example. For a drinking water company, POM provides the amicable collection process. We approach this company's debtors with emails and text messages, among other things. In these emails and text messages, we offer the debtor with a link the option to make mobile payments via their own bank's internet banking app. More than 70 (!) percent of the debtors we write to do so now. That's twice as much as 2.5 years ago.
Mobile payment benefits
So nice results. But why would you want to get it? Mobile payment as part of the collection process, it has a number of advantages. Our experiences show that if you remind a debtor of their payment obligation or encourage them to pay and you offer them the option to do so on mobile, you will get paid faster. In other words, your customer will be a better debtor. In fact, the water company mentioned above is doing so well that it no longer uses collection agencies and bailiffs.
Optimizing for mobile payments
Please note: good results do not come naturally. You need to make good use of this tool. Text messages and mails steering that are optimized for mobile payment and also design landing pages that make mobile payments possible. Write short texts and use large buttons in your online messages, so that someone can give their payment order with just a few swipes and a click on the button.
Streamlined collection process
Another great advantage of mobile payment is that the collection process is streamlined. A letter with a giro receipt whose details have to be retyped into the internet banking program can go quite a bit wrong. With all the consequences that entail. With mobile payment via a payment link, there is no risk that the account number, attribute or amount will be entered incorrectly.
Customer wants mobile payment
And last but not least: customers, especially younger customers, increasingly prefer mobile payments. I also notice it in myself. Recently, I had to take out insurance. Out of the various offers I received, I chose the more expensive ones. Simply because I was able to handle everything at once with this provider by mobile payment. I'm not alone in that, I know. Trend watchers foresee that mobile payment will soon be the most normal thing in the world. People opt for convenience and therefore also for the convenience of mobile payments. Can't you offer them that? Then they go elsewhere with their business.
